Jack Rankin was adopted as the Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for the Windsor Constituency at a meeting of members on Friday 1st September 2023.
Lars Swann, Chairman of the Association said “I am delighted that Jack Rankin has been selected by our members. Jack has a long and close connection with Windsor having served as a Councillor and Cabinet member on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) as well as being a former Treasurer and Officer of the Windsor Conservative Association. He has been a dedicated campaigner on issues for Windsor for many years.
When a Councillor on the Royal Borough, Jack was instrumental in arguing for the Council to participate in a Judicial Review of the third runway.
As Lead Councillor for Economic Development, he worked with Legoland on a masterplan that resulted in a £95m investment into our town and hundreds of new jobs, while staggering the traffic to help address the long-standing resident concerns”
Adam Afriyie said “Jack is a great choice by the Windsor Conservative Association. He’s hardworking, dedicated, likeable and he knows and cares about our area. He’ll make a great MP and I wish him all the best for a bright future.”
On being selected Jack said “I am truly honoured to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for Windsor at the next General Election.
Windsor is a great place where my wife and I made our first home together. From my time serving on the Royal Borough, I know the challenges local people face, from flooding to making sure that the roads, school places and other necessary essentials are in place before any new development is agreed
Working with Adam and Ben Spencer, MP for Runneymede, I intend to meet as many residents throughout this redrawn constituency as quickly as possible. I want to listen to their concerns, solve their issues and win their trust and support at the general election”
